If you took Exam 5A or 5B, please don't use this poll (see other poll in sub-fora).

I assume we are doing this to judge pass mark's, so should the full 5 ppl answer the 5a and the 5b polls? that would give better insight to the half exam takers on the expected passmark for their respected half.

I would be more interested in if the 5A/5B crowd did better since they had less to study, so I'd prefer if full Exam 5 takers didn't use those polls.

Though, I did do better on the ratemaking portion. Mainly because I tackled that first and ran out of time on the reserving half.

You are right though, the pass mark will be determined based on each half... hmm.... maybe someone else can chime in.

Just for reference:

The CAS posts the scores on old exams corresponding to the 95th percentiles, 75th percentiles:

2010 Exam 5:

75th Percentile: 79.1%
Pass Mark: 73.1%

2009 Exam 5:
95th Percentile: 86.7%
75th Percentile: 78.7%
Pass Mark: 73.3%

Maybe the exam 5 takers should vote in all 3 polls.

They also had less time to get their answers down. Exam 5 people could conceivably have more time for one part if they were very strong in the other part . . . and I'll bet those taking the 1/2 Exams are not taking the part they're strong in.

Definitely a factor, especially if 5A&B people tended to skip questions on the 2nd half (5B) when they ran out of time.

Curiously tho, the questions I skipped were actually in the 1st half... hrmm
