View Full Version : Stupid shoe.

My newish shoes have been quite comfortable until recently. The tongue on the left shoe has decided to start sliding down to the outside of my foot as the day progresses. There's no little slit in the top of the tongue to thread the laces through to keep that from happening, so I'm frequently pulling the darn thing up during the day.

Do not want.

make a hole, maybe sew somthing on the inside of it to keep it up, shoes in general are annoying anyway. I have to take them off to study or do work.

Don't buy shoes with laces.

I'm currently wearing these, and they are the most comfortable dress shoe I have ever worn, maybe the most comfortable shoe in general I have ever worn:

They are Clarks in case you were wondering.

When you have big feet those shoes without laces look weird. I haven't found a pair I could wear.

However, Mrs Browncoat did come home with such a pair for me recently ($14 at Kohls!). They're a little snug, but they look nice.

He puts them on when he gets dressed. What's the problem?

He lives in Rand McNally, so should be wearing hats on his feet.

heck if girls can wear flip flops to work there's no reason you need to wear shoes at all. at least when you walk around you won't make the interminable "thwack! thwack! thwack! thwack!" sound.

They are dress shoes for me, unless I'm wearing a suit. Basically, if I can't/won't wear them to play sports or mow my grass, then I call them dress shoes. Maybe I should have called them casual dress shoes.

If you can't wear them with a suit, they are not dress shoes. There is no such thing as a casual dress shoe either. They are casual shoes, but they are not sneakers.

They may not be called "flip flops", but essentially that's what they are, even if they're not plastic or rubber or some such (e.g. (http://bit.ly/oqxttv)).

A lot of male friends are irriated by this. one male colleague of mine got "in trouble" for wearing leather flip flops (e.g. (http://bit.ly/pAM2lW)) on casual day (jeans).

I told him he was an idiot for getting irritated for such things. whatever, such is life. you learn to live with it. Not that big a deal imo, at least for me.
