DW Simpson Salary Survey (http://www.dwsimpson.com/salary.html)
I'd like to conduct a quick survey here.
Look at the DW Simpson Survey and determine whether you fall in the range given for your exam level and salary level.
Respond with "Yes" if you fall in the applicable range and "Above" if you fall above the range and "Below" if you fall below the range. According to the DW Simpson webmaster 80% of us should say Yes and 10% of us should say Above and 10% of us should say Below.
Thanks!

YES and quite possibly above
Base salary plus minimum bonus almost above the range. Any bonus more than slightly above minimum would put me above the range.

well, this sure turned out to be pointless in the end ...
I wonder if a moderator can make a specific thread allow only non-anonymous posts...
but then again, this is a survey where a lot of people would probably prefer to remain anonymous.

I'd like to nominate this thread be deleted. I actually wasted a few minutes looking at all five pages of this piece of garbage. I kep hoping for some religious post, oh wait, that's only in the non-actuarial area. Well, I still say axe it.

I'm all for deleting it, then starting a new one with the same topic. Perhaps we could start it in a section that doesn't allow anonymous postings.

Lots of people know other people's positions, experience, etc. If Ammie says below or yes or above, I have a pretty good idea of what she makes. There's no way I would post to this unless it's anonymous. Is there a way to start over, but block the people with multiple posts from the same IP address? Or where they cannot post anonymously, but you force the thread to show "Anonymous" (that is, I would be willing to tell Glenn and Traci, as long as they were not telling anybody else).
Tough call. If we post anonymously, then do we expect more or less accurate repsonses than if we post under our usual name?

I know about 15 people who post here, IRL.
As for Ammie, I know her fairly well. We've done stuff together. For example, she's been in the back seat of my car, she's been to my loft (loved the high ceilings - she commented on that while we were in the bedroom, I'm not sure what she had in mind), and just a few weeks ago she came to town again - we went out to dinner and then back to her hotel. But she still won't tell me her salary.
Not that any of that is your business.

The rule of thumb for Canadians is that if you earn Cdn$X, then going to the US would get you US$X. I have followed that in reviewing the survey. Since the range for my experience/exams is very wide, I have no trouble confirming "yes".
{aside: And Troy, if *you* really want to know how much I make, I'd probably tell you.}

As fascinating as that information is, if it's not my business, you didn't have to tell me. It's not like I asked for all the sorted details, just if you actually new her.

I guess the details are sorted, in the sense that I mentioned them in chronological order.
But you didn't ask if I now her.
