i just signed up today, still debating if i should get this out of way by taking it in the Oct-Dec window or just wait till Jan.
Have no clue what these are like and how to study for them.

just started this morning. taking gaddy's advice and going through all the review notes first, then doing quizzes/tests to see if i need to actually read the material. hopefully there is a lot of overlap from old exam 5&6 and new exam 6U. :)

starting today. scheduled to take exam on 12/5. Let's see if 1 month is good enough.
My plan is using RN and quiz. Hopefully that's good enough.

Took the test today and (unofficially) passed, with about 40-50 hours of studying in all. I think that was a little more than was necessary to pass. I started studying 3 weeks ago, and have passed the old 5 & 6, so there was a lot of material I had seen before. I felt that the exam was a tad more difficult than the practice exam/quizzes.

How do you get the result of the test? Is it a print out or just result shown on the computer screen? Does it tell you the % or just "pass".

It tells you on the screen and you get a printout. It just says "pass".

I wonder what sentences are repeated the most in the exam literature.
Two contenders that I've got:
"Premium represents the most significant source of revenue for most insurers"
"Unlike other businesses, the price of insurance is not known at the time of sale."

So I understand that we have to take this course regardless and it will be easier blah blah blah... but how can the CAS say that a candidate who has passed Old 5, Old 6 and will eventually pass New 7 is not exempt from this exam? Im legitimately baffled. I of course have to put in 20-30 hours for review so its not like I could pass this course with no studying and in the end I can't complan since the average person in my situation will probably come out ahead with a bonus / raise of $500 or whatever. Regardless, I just can't see how we have (or will at some point) covered maybe 15 of 16 sections yet not be exempted from this course.
I didn't see any old threads on this. I'm not really complaining since its a requirement at the end of the day, I'm just wondering what the CAS is thinking.

Passed. Done. Don't want to think about it any more. I can see how these courses could be helpful to someone just starting their insurance career. Unfortunately, that isn't the case for most of us.

About two weeks in (gave myself a month) and I'm through with 10 of the 16 lessons, so I'm running at a good pace. There seem to be less mega-lessons (45+ min estimates on the timer) thusfar than what I remember from Course 1, which is always nice.

How far is everyone? I'm on chapter 8... I'm concerned I'm behind. I was kind of blowing it off thinking it would be really easy - but I definitely don't know everything!

Through 12.5 assignments with 8 days to go... feel fairly comfortable at this point as Ive put in less than 20 hours so far and Im actually remembering a lot of the stuff that I passed on old 5.

similar to what others have told me, i could narrow down the harder questions to 2 answers and then it was a guess from there
