NL Hold 'em Sit-n-go on UB, blinds 100/200, 3 players remaining

Me: T4855 on the button
SB: T3135
BB: T2010

I'm dealt QQ

I hate to waste a monster here, but it seems like I'm asking for trouble by slowplaying. What would your move be and why?

Standard raise to 600. Wouldn't mind taking the blinds now or having them call. Show my cards if they fold. Sets me up for stealing more blinds. Give them a free flop, then you don't know if they have A or K.

What 3rookie said, but I will add if someone re-raises then I'm coming over the top. If they just call, then I will bet strong on any flop that doesn't have an ace or king. If an Ace or King flops and they check I will bet close to the pot.

I basically agree as well, but I would not show my cards.

Bama is really aggressive if an AK comes on the flop and noone bets. I can see this, but wonder how the play changes is you are in the first or second position and an AK comes on the flop.

Thanks guys. I ended up doing what you all advised, took down the blinds and felt a little unfulfilled. Maybe next time I will show them. I did manage to seal the deal and take 1st in this SNG.

Most of the time I would play this with a standard 3xbb bet. However, by this point in a SnG you have a feel for your opponents - ther are certainly times I would slow play this all the way and hope for no overcards...mainly against very aggressive players. All depends on the situation...

In any case, I am almost always looking for a reason to play by the book.

Since I share my horrible beats all the time, I thought I would share this hand as one that went my way when all odds were against me, and this seemed to be the appropriate thread...

Playing a ring game, 5 handed, get dealt QQ in the BB. One raiser, I reraise, he reraises again, I cap it.

Flop is K84, all spades (I do have a spade) My opponent bets, I call,
planning a raise on the turn.

Turn: Q He bets, I raise, he reraises, I pause and think, maybe he has Ax spades, or A spades, K? AA with a spade, or KK? Not sure, and the guy is new to the table, I have no read on his play, so I just call.

River: Q He bets, I raise, he reraises, I cap. (I didn't know that pokerstars had a cap when it was heads up, seemed really odd to me, either that, or the guy just called)

He turns over KK!!!! Talk about getting lucky on my part.

Why were you planning to raise on the turn?

Get no help, I can fold.
Catch a spade, raise.

Do you disagree?

Perhaps planning is a bad word to use. I will revise it to "Hoping"

I would only call the turn (even if I hit a queen or spade), unless of course the turn was the Ace of spades. If I hit a queen on the turn then I will raise the river if I fill up or make quads.
