Not sure why I keep getting this wrong.

Solutions set up the integral from t/2->2 and 3->4

I set it up from 3->2x and 1.5->2

As far as I can tell the two are equivalent.

Other than that I did all the same things, so the only other possible mistake I could imagine would be in the algebra, which would make me feel dumb after triple checking.

So why doesn't this work

It seems like they should agree. You should post your work and maybe someone will be able to see what went wrong.

Math on a computer always feels strange

int(1.5->2 int 3->2x(3x/8dt)dx) =
int(1.5->2 3xy/8(3->2x)dx) =
int(1.5->2 3x^2/4-9x/8 dx) =
x^3/4-9x^2/16 (1.5->2) =
2-2.25-.84375+1.265625 =
.171875

Completely perplexed as to how multiple times of doing this (including right before typing this) gave me the wrong answer.

lol me

math on a computer is easier to read if you use tex http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?p=1409493#post1409493
