Was it just me, or did he deserve the booes for his selfishness? Why do we need to see the Kobe show. We know he's a pig, dish it off to someone else that we don't see on NBC every weekend.
The Bucks were a few points away from the finals last year and every NBC and TNT game involves the Wizards. I think the Bucks have a total of maybe 3 games on those 2 channels combined. Come on, they are fun to watch.
The NBA creating a European Division? That's all we need is more fatherless children running around in another continent.

Kobe did hog the ball, but he played pretty well. Shot ~50%, no TOs. The boos had nothing to do with him shooting the ball too much. Except that Philly didn't want to see him show them up again.
The reason Milwaukee is not on TV is because nobody cares about the Bucks.

Iverson didn't look too good on his home court. He couldn't even match the number on his jersey (wore Dr. J's number 6).

He got booed because during the Finals last year, he said he was a more of an LA guy now. Philly fans booed Santa Claus at an Eagles game about 8 years ago.
I think it was Jim Gray that interviewed Kobe during the game. His first 60 seconds were about the boos. This guy is the biggest loser reporter in sports. After the questions about the boos, I think his next question was "You don't think Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame until he 'fesses up, do you?"

Not to get onto a Jim Gray tangent, but I remember him once asking Karl Malone after a loss whether he feels that he let down the entire state of Utah. Give me a break!
At least it was nice to hear commentators refer to him as "Bryant" on occassion. Generally the commentators use last names or full names most of the time, unless it's your local hometown-biased broadcast. I'm sick to death of hearing him referred to as "Kobe".

Until there's another Kobe, which would cause confusion, I don't see the problem.
Didn't see the game. Sorry. Washing my hair or something.

What are you talking about? Like you have to wonder which Kobe they are referring to?
I guess you want them to stop calling the other guy Shaq too.

What annoys me a lot more is when players are referred to by their first initial and the first syllable of their last name. It's been beaten to death.
TMac,CWebb,JWill...
It's amazing how whenever you mention the very common name of Michael in basketball circles, everyone knows exactly who you're talking about.

Same reason why they didn't make the finals. The NBA is fixed.

Yeah, it is fixed so the teams with talent win.

Milwaukee's talent is better than Philly's.

Who won on Saturday, oh yeah, The Sixers on the Bucks court.
I'm not saying that they're wrong, just that it bothers me. Saying "Kobe" or "Shaq" doesn't create any confusion, but Shaq is sometimes referred to as O'Neal or Shaquille O'Neal. Kobe Bryant is always Kobe.
There's something about initially referring to the player by his last/full name that gives it a sense of journalistic integrity. For example: "The pass goes to Bryant in the lane, and it's Kobe with the dunk!" sounds like journalism. "The pass goes to Kobe." "Kobe brings the ball up the court." "Let's go to Jim Grey, who's talking to Kobe." etc. sounds like grade schoolers in the playground pretending to be their favorite players.
Even in local Pacers brodcasts, which are ridiculously biased at times, they usually mix it up and call him Reggie Miller or Miller as often as just plain Reggie. When Dale Davis and Antonio Davis were both here, it did get confusing, because they called them both Davis, even though they had commonly known (at least locally) nicknames (AD and double D).
Again, I'm not saying they're wrong. It just bothers me. More so than him shooting a lot. He's a fantastic player, even among all-stars - he should be shooting a lot (as much as it pains me to say that).

Badger, the Bucks are talented, but not that good. They probably won't make the East finals, even though I would like to see them get that far for a change.

not a very well-timed topic on badger's part.
in case you missed it, bryant ( ) had 15 assists last night, and that's w/out shaq in the lineup.

To add fuel to the fire, the Bucks lost to the Bulls yesterday. Second time this season.
On the other hand, the Bulls swept the Lakers this season, so I guess the Bucks must be going to the NBA finals.

Slick Leonard : Indiana Pacers
as Dick Butkus : Chicago Bears
I couldn't stand listening to that hillbilly. Adds absolutely nothing to the broadcast. Much better when Clark Kellogg was doing color alongside Jerry Baker on old WTTV 4.
"Now that's what you call bagging your own groceries!" - Favorite Kellogg line ever after AD threw one down against the Knicks circa 1995.
All hail Clark Kellogg!!!
I remember that one - it's a great line.
I like the references to the ball as "the orange". On having the ball popped loose: "He didn't squeeze the orange." On Jalen Rose's reluctance to drive: "He's gotta take the orange to the rack."
I think Slick Leonard makes up nicknames for the players on the spot. I've heard him speak in public before, and he's great, but I can't listen him do a game.

dick butkus : chicago bears as
clyde frazier : new york knicks.
clyde likes to try to impress us with his extensive vocabulary. unfortunately, i don't think he really knows what a lot of the words he uses mean, and he often ends up making no sense whatsoever.

Well, both my Bucks and Badgers are killing my points. The Bucks in this thread and the Badgers in the Big Ten thread. I ripped them for not winning on the road and then they go out and win at Indiana. Here's one then, the Bucks do suck. dropping 7 of 9 is it? To the Bulls and Cavaliers? Ouch.

I don't think the Bucks are any worse than the rest of the Eastern Conference. After all, the Nets lost to Atlanta as well. Looks like another boring NBA finals.

who cares if the nets lost one game, at atlanta? why does that mean they can't beat any good team from the west? Against the top western teams (dall, sac, spurs, t'woloves), NJ's record is 4-3, including a 34 point win vs. the kings.
Keep in mind, LA has lost to Memphis, Golden State, Denver, and Chicago (TWICE!).
