How do you calculate the average stack size? Total chips/ number of people <> your average stack size.

In these types of tournaments they just tell you the average stack size; but it should be total chips/players left.
Just snuck a peek at expunge's tourney - he is holding his own. Grabbed a blind while I was watching...

as scoot said, they post the avg stack for you.
this tournament players started with between 1000 and 3000 chips so the total chips isn't a nice round number.
at break 3 i have 6274. had to go all in once and doubled up.
218 remaining.
leader = 43181
avg = 8799
bets are 500 / 1000 when play resumes.

if your a play money it takes a while for that multi to load.
Break 4 and im still in but gonna need some help. Seems like i can't hit a flop now, but i caught a nice river to keep me decent stacked.
im at 4280
leader 51692
avg 16937

It's in the money in any regular multi. Bama said congrats too.
Oh well caught a few lucky cards here and there to keep me going. Made some cheap mistakes here and there too. but those add up.
hit that rush early and built a decent stack. lost a couple of hands and by that time i was below average. Just couldn't crawl back past the average mark. crawled right to it but not over.
For the many of you watching if you have a hand in mind i'll try to pull it.

Bama your prolly right should have gone all in the hand prior. even if he has Ax i still have a 25% chace. and i was getting atleast that in odds. oh well, i need sleep which prolly wont happen until i replay some hands in my head about 50 million times.

Here's a disappointing hand. was around average and dropped to short stacked after it.
But i saved myself much more $T than Bama would have.

the hand that i said bama was right on....
Yeah, this is the hand I wanted to see again. I wanted you to bet out on this one after the flop given the pot commitment and the possibility he was playing 2 over cards too.
Oh well, you made a nice run at it. Caught some cards when you needed them, and were cripled on the st draw when you caught the pair on the flop. Good job on the 58th place finish.

Talked to Freeman about the KJ hand today at lunch. He said this is an easy fold pre-flop. If it were NL then you could go all-in preflop, but since it's limit and so many players are left to act behind you, it's an easy fold. Given the size of your stack the next hand you play, you have to win (or else you will be EXTEREMLY low). Since KJ is not strong enough to win without help, it's much better to fold pre-flop. Given your stack size and position, he said you need at least AJ to play.
Now given that you raised, he thinks calling the raise pre-flop is ok. Also, he said check fold was correct on the flop.

interesting thoughts. I think i might have to agree. I think i was too low to wait for AJ or better, maybe any A though as it has a much better chance to win without help than KJ.

If you were in the cutoff or on the button raising with the KJ would have been fine. You can see three more rounds, you can expect to get a hand better than KJ in three rounds.
