What do you guys generally do when you miss with big slick on the flop? Fill in the details however you feel (how many players still in, raise preflop, etc. etc.)

Okay, so I will fill in some specifics to get this going... You raise UTG 3xBB and get two callers, blinds fold, flop comes J82 rainbow. Do you bet out? Do you check-fold? Are you going to take this to the river if nobody bets hard?

I'll bet the pot almost every time on this. If someone comes over the top, I'll lay it down. If it's just called and the turn is a blank I'll check-fold.

This is pretty much what I would do. I would only hesitate if I'm up against enormous stacks that are prone to chase.

This is a total feel hand to me, might even consider a check raise if i feel an opponent is going to try to steal.

It is best when you are last to act and it is checked to you after the flop - i always hit the pot pretty hard, but like expunge says, this is a good feel hand and i probably play it different each time.

You still have 25% chance (ish) to hit the overcard.

Didn't really miss on the flop, just didn't realize that I was playing against a very, very lucky idiot.

would anyone do anything differently in this situation?

With that flop, I would have been a little scared that the opponent had the other flush draw, and by no way would I think that he/she would have called with a K 7 of spades with only 1 spade on the flop. I can see a call if he/she flopped two pair, but that was a horrible call. To lose your tournament on that, that is ridiculous. You deserved better. I'd play it the same every time.

Actually i think the biggest fear might be AdQd, giving him second pair and the flush draw.

But i'm sorry to say that i watched this happen. I also watched Bama get lucky and cracking AA with his two rags going all in preflop.

So maybe when i watch you should be the underdog.
