Our consultants at Milliman use Lotus. What do they know that nobody else knows?

what do they NOT know that we do? That Microsoft's monopoly is ever increasing and wide-spreading. Make your life easier... if you don't want their software, just write Bill a check and mail it directly to him.
Seriously, most places I have worked at use Excel because 'everybody else does.' 'everybody' meaning all the departments and clients and vendors we work with. It's not evil, just convenient. I actually liked Lotus when I used it, and was annoyed by Excel when I fisrt saw it; it was... *gasp* ...different! But like most things, you get used to it.

I still use an older version at home. It's what I learned on, so I still am more familier with it. I like just going /wdr and deleting a row.

They know that Lotus has better mathematcal and database functions and does macros much more easily than Excel.
I use both - depending on the nature of the project and the intended user. (They are much more compatible than they used to be.)

to delete entire row in Excel,
/edr[enter]
OR
highlight row (or column) by clicking on the letter (or number) and hit [ctrl-(keypad minus)]
OR
[ctrl-(keypad minus)] then r(enter)
OR
add an icon to a toolbar to do it
I have no complaints...
