Should have gone to bed! - I get one bad beat, and one poor showing, and this means I am starting to press, wanting to get my $$ back. Anyone been there. Any advice?

Bad for various and multiple reasons. But let's say I was playing with AK and the 200 bet is warranted. Should I have hit the pot again? Obviously should not have played this, i ususally know this down pat. Getting blinded down the last game makes me impatient and I haven't been getting cards.
I did go to bed after this one...
Anway, the end result is I lost $60 (arguably $90) because of a bad beat (Tourney #1) that should have cost me $30...Thanks for your comments, hopefully you get something out of this
JCWorsham finished in sixth place.
:(
your opponent trapped himself on this one, he should have come over the top all in on the flop.
checking the turn tells him you don't have the ace.
should have check fold on the river instead of betting out.

I probably wouldn't play you for AK maybe a QJ or something like that after you just called my raise.
2 options here: 1 is the easy one cause I saw the hand. 2 is what I probably would have done. And been out of the tourney.
option 1)
Say we go to the river as you desribed. I think a check fold is in order. He is putting in 380 to win 1030 and knock you out. I can't think of too many possible holdings (for him) where he won't call.
Option 2)
What MNpoker probably would have done:
I'd raise his 100 bet to 200 or 400 then if he comes over the top again fold. You aren't in dire straights yet where you want to end the tourney on 88.
But if he doesn't reraise preflop then I'm all-in on the flop. Tourney over Oh well.
As far as playing after a bad beat (or beats!!) I am as guilty as anyone of thinking, "That crappy hand beat me now I just have to have my crappy hand win and everything will be even". BAD BAD BAD.
What you must do: Sit tight wait for an even better hand and take someone out. The wait kills but knocking a player out (or seriously doing damage to his stack) is a good feeling and you will feel back in it. even though your chip count may still be somewhat low.

Option 2 for getting off a bad beat. Play a low stakes game maybe $5 and play like a maniac, you might crack someone and get that rush of HA!!
Or more than likely you will lose $6 and see just how hard it is to win playing like a maniac and reality will set back in.
Cause we all know going to bed after a bad beat IS NOT an option. :P
