Libya Reverses Stance on Pan Am Bombing
(AP) - Libya on Wednesday reversed its prime minister and confirmed that it was responsible for blowing up Pan Am flight 103 in 1988 and killing 270 people. The statement by the Jamahiriya news agency could put back on track a plan by the Bush administration to let Americans travel to Libya.

A FORMER CIA agent who claims Libya is not responsible for the Lockerbie bombing is being gagged by the US government under state secrecy laws and faces 10 years in prison if he reveals any information about the terrorist attack.
United Nations diplomats are outraged that the US government is apparently suppressing a potential key trial witness. Diplomats are now demanding that the CIA agent, Dr Richard Fuisz, be released from the gagging order. Fuisz, a multi-millionaire businessman and pharmaceutical researcher, was, according to US intelligence sources, the CIA's key operative in the Syrian capital Damascus during the 1980s where he also had business interests.

Do I understand correctly that Americans aren't allowed to travel to Libya? I though it was just Cuba that was off limits, o well.

There's always Saudi Arabia (via opinionjournal.com), which has recently opened itself up to tourism:

Unless you are a visitor from a GCC country or in transit, all other nationalities require a visa to enter the Kingdom. Visas can be for business, tourist, transit, residency, family, Hajj, or conference attendance.
Visas can be obtained from the visa department in the Saudi Embassy of the visitor's home country or from Saudi Consulates available in all main cities around the world.
The cost of a visa is generally 200 Saudi Riyals however visitors should ensure that they check with the Saudi Embassy or Consulate.
Visas will not be issued for the following groups of people:
An Israeli passport holder or a passport that has an Israeli arrival/departure stamp.
Those who don't abide by the Saudi traditions concerning appearance and behaviors. Those under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted into the Kingdom.
There are certain regulations for pilgrims and you should contact the consulate for more information.

Wow - you can't have an Israeli passport - AND IT CAN'T EVEN HAVE AN ISRAELI STAMP IN IT. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they are basically saying that if you've ever visited Israel, you need to get a new passport before visiting Saudi Arabia!??!!?

I think several Arab countries have that rule (about passports evidencing travel to Israel), but I doubt anyone other than SA prohibits Jews altogether.
