dont call all you money with Kx. Betting is different.

From this i say you're quite passive when it comes to 4, and def not taking advantage of the scare of not cashing. then you got in trouble and called on a weak hand.

FWIW:

1. You surrender your small blind way too much. The other guy probably has junk too. Try calling once in awhile, and bet on the flop no matter what it is. Some opponents fight back, but some will fold to this pretty often.

2. No bluff steals.

3. Giving too much info on hand strength with size of raise (all-in, 600). Didn't hurt you here but it can.

OK, as I've mentioned in other threads, I'm new at this and far from being an expert... but let me give you my opinion for what it's worth and feel free to discount appropriately. I may find out something about my own play based on other people's comments.

I would have played all those hands the same except your pocket 9s which I thought would be worth paying to see a flop, even in early position. Your last hand... I would have folded. Because the blinds had just gone up were you worried about being blinded out and felt you needed to make a move at all costs? I think I would have waited for a more opportune time even if it meant being blinded out in a few hands.

I don't really have a problem with my last call. I used all my allotted time to consider it, and I knew it was close.

I didn't think I'd be getting that sort of return opportunity again, and my 2nd card was a 7, so some potential of pairing it and it holding up.

Some of my other plays are atrocious:

1) Not playing the Ax UTG for a bet 3x the big blind. Gap concept, Lance. Gap concept.

2) Not playing the Nines. Ashamed to even admit to that in retrospect.

3) Betting the KT for 3x the big blind was good. I give myself credit there.

4) Betting Big Slick for all my chips... which could be fine, but not when I distinguish my _really_ good hands (all in) from my semi-bluffs (3x the big blind)

your final hand should be folded. i know giving the 300 away is tought but a bet like that has your K7 beat from the start almost every time. I agree pot odds were prolly there for you when you add in survival its just not a good choice. what can your opponent have that makes you feel good. small pockets against K7 gives you maybe a 45% chance. A2 - A6 im guessing is about 40%, A8 - AQ im guessing around 35%, medium (8 - Q), AK, A7, and K8+ all have you dominated. none of these options look particularly good to me.

Very :notworth: (good point). Do to the lack of bets you made, i was unsure if it was just time to go all or nothing, or if it was a tell.

A pretty good rule for me in 4 way action is...
if my stack < 6x and i'm betting its all in.
else 3x.
If my stack is <9x. and am raised pre flop i'm nearly all in 100% of the time. If I see a flop its a feel thing.

Then only thing that really sticks out to me is that you went from 1885 to 1085 pretty much just giving up blinds. If other players notice this, and they will, they will be content to steal your blinds and wait to battle each other.

Without going into specific hands:
Always (Any Group 1 - 8 and possibly any face card) raise in SB especially if the player in the BB is not a big stack. No one wants to call with Kx and get knocked out because of a Kx.

Check sometimes in early position with a decent hand (thinking K9 flop J9x) and check it down. This shows the ops that a check doesn't mean "I'm weak breathe on the pot and it is yours".

Never go all-in preflop unless I'm raising someone or reraising. It's just to scary without 'the goods' and when you do get called you can bet it's by a monster. Risking 1500 to win 300 is to big of a risk and when you consider it takes 5x just to dbl up it's not worth it.

There are 2 (3) goals at 4 way.
1) Pick off enough blinds (or don't give yours up) to stay level.
2) Double up when you catch a monster and someone plays into you.
3) Stay away from the big stack -- I don't care how good your hand is AK still needs help. I only play against the big stack if I'm going all in preflop.

(I know #3 seems to contradict my above never go all in preflop, but if you think about it it doesn't) Ain't this game great!

I'm proud to say that I wasn't even aware that my straight had hit after I folded.

As soon as I fold, the hand's gone as far as what happens on the flop, turn, and river.

What I want to concentrate on is the decision-making process.
