Are there any circumstances when you show your cards to your opponents whether it is because everyone folds or because you are beat on the show down? Why?

I always tend to show pocket aces when they get cracked, or if everyone folds to me. It still probably isn't the smartest thing to do, but they come up so rarely that its something I like to do. Now if I were playing in a higher stakes game (above 5-10 limit) or tourny, I might rethink that.

if it might look like i'm stealing blinds with actually good cards i will start to show. I don't want them to think i really am stealing blind. So i can really steal the blinds later.

this help to counteract the chronic stealer image, while in fact it may be true.

If I'm a big stack but not the table leader, I will show the table leader if I steal his blind. I want him to know that I will only raise his blinds with a big hand.

This is exactly when I might show.

I would never show cards unless I was paid off.
