Hey, PartyPoker's software has been updated, and now shows both hands at the appropriate time - a big upgrade in my mind...

Yeah that is a big upgrade. Stupid to be all in, and no be able to see the cards.
Does it just for the SnG's and tourneys (like PokerStars) or does it do it for all games?
Also, is it really true that the players are much worse at Party? I've only ever used my PokerStars account, but it might be worth giving them both a try if it's easier to win some scrillah there.

Currently the level of play at Stars is higher than at Party. The difference is greater at the higher limits. In other words, if you play .50-1.00 the difference is not that great, but the $200 SNGs at Stars are MUCH harder than the 200 SNGs at Party. Stars is getting easier everyday as the fish make their way from the unstable Party to the rock solid Stars.

Gotta strongly disagree. Frequently the .05/.10 tables at stars are tighter than the .50/1 tables at party. The .25/50 tables at stars are almost always tougher than the .50/1 tables at party. We're down $45 at stars, up $500 at party. Party has a huge advantage in table selection as well. If a table tightens up or goes crazy, there's dozens more to choose from.
Partypoker...it's where the fish are.

THe other night Mrs. V flopped the nut flush. Bet out, got 3 callers. Turn's a blank, bets, get two callers. River's a blank - no pair on board - bets, gets raised :o , 3rd guy cold calls the raise, she reraises, they both call! :D
Last night I saw a board check around on the flop. On the turn LP bet and got several callers, no raise. River checked around. EP had flopped a straight! I don't think he even knew he had it. :duh:

Gotta strongly disagree. You are prob right. I haven't played enough at the lower limits to really draw a conclusion.

Do you both play at the same time? What kind of set-up do you have at home? I still just have a slow dial-up, but it is my understanding that with cable or DSL you can have more than one computer logged-in at the same time.

Our main computer has a cable internet connection. There's also a computer in my daughter's bedroom. It's networked to the main computer through the house's powerlines, and shares the internet connection. It's supposed to be easy to share the connection with Windows XP, but I had difficulty setting it up. Once I got it set up it works great, though. Haven't had a problem since, it's like each computer has its own connection.
Voterette and I take turns playing at the main computer because the other one is on a child's desk and it isn't very comfortable to sit there long. But, I saw a promotion on internettexasholdem.com offering a free book (Hilger) and the standard signup bonus for new accounts at Party. So, I did open a new account on my daughter's computer, but once I earned the bonus I cashed it out and haven't played on it since. We did play at the same table once, but she wouldn't tell me what she had until I folded.

I would like to do something like this, how does it work?

Go to ebay and search on "netgear powerline." Here's one:

Wow, the prices are now half what I paid, and I thought mine were very reasonable.
You buy one for each computer, hook em up, plug em in (must be to the wall, not a power strip) and your computers can see each other.
If you have two XP computers this should work. If not, you might also need a router. I'm no techie, but if you go to cnet.com and other techie sites and read the reviews you should be able to figure it out. That's what I did.
There's two kinds of connections, Ethernet and USB. Ethernet's supposed to be faster. I got USB cause that's all I could find at the time, and it's plenty fast enough for internet, sharing printers, poker, etc. It's just as fast as the main computer, no delay. Some reviews said you could notice a difference if you played multiplayer games with USB, but I had no intention of doing that anyway.
Two XP computers are supposed to automatically recognize each other and set up the network, but that didn't work for me. I had to play with a bunch of settings. It took awhile, but it's been stable ever since (~6 months now). If you try it and have problems, let me know.
I'm very happy with it, but powerline networking in general never really took off. The radio stuff is what caught on. For the price of the powerline, I think it's definitely worth a try.
