Did anyone notice that Vileena Maniachencko of Ukraine skated to Schindler's List (in A minor)? (She finished around 11th.)
...
E' - A' - E' - A'
G' - F' - E' - D'
D' - G - D' - G
F' - E' - D' - C'
B' - E - B' - E
E' - D' - C' - B' - A'
Was that song written for the movie, or is it perhaps an old classical piece that anyone who knows anything about classical music should know of from before?
(Hey, I still refer to Pachebel's Cannon as Ordinary People.)

John Williams was responsible for the Schindler's List score. I don't know how much was original and how much was arrangement of existing music, though.

I thought that was Schindler's List. Didn't see the movie but it was burned into my brain during the Oscar telecast.
(tangent)
Skating is such a biased sport. Everybody knows going in that the judges are only going to give high marks to a predetermined few. You can hear it in the announcer's voices as you watch a non-contender perform a mistake-free program -- "Oh yes, that's very nice, not the most exciting performer, but she's done herself proud" and other back-handed compliments. It's ironic that Scott Hamilton and company get all upset about the pairs judging when they're so clearly in synch with the pre-judging that takes place.

You mean Oskar, of course.
