What is going on with ING hiring and firing actuaries? Is there any stability at ING?

i heard they were moving to PA (near AEGON) and hiring 40-50 actuaries...but firing all the ones who don't move from the other locations (out of state)

Firing is such a negative word. Zapped is correct, our jobs are being "transitioned" to ING in PA. This includes actuaries in Denver and Des Moines. I am not sure about actuaries at Aetna or ReliaStar. Basically, what their goal is, is to have all life and annuity actuarial functions be at one site. This stinks for those of us who do not want to relocate to PA, but does open lots of opportunities for those who do.

It is true, they are needing to fill 40 to 50 positions, so anyone currently looking for a position in life and annuity actuarial work including product development, financial reporting, risk management, and I'm sure much more, and wouldn't mind relocating to PA should look into it.

West Chester. I believe it is about half an hour outside of Philidelphia.

What do you think this should do to salaries in the surrounding area?

Aegon? M & R? etc......

I would think that that many jobs could cause a mass exodus???

Ideas?
