What can I do to show me this name? Some whois operation?

i found it on the status bar when the site was slow to respond;

i was going from a thread title to the thread messages (in re: actuarial universities)

edited in: try going directly to page 2 -- it is still slow now

Either:
a) Your system, or
b) transient conditions on the internet (my personal favourite)

Nothing on the site or the server has anything to do with that site.

Go to a DOS prompt and type:

tracert http://www.actuary.ca

This will show you all the stops a packet takes on the way from your computer to this site. See if that site shows on your list. It doesn't on mine, either here or at work.

It is not happening now but it did happen several times, hours apart, today when I went to General Actuarial and then directly to page 2 of the University rankings thread.

Perhaps this site doesn't prevent intrusive redirects as well as it should.

If the intruder has gone than tracert will not find him now. Further, if the intrusion was placed on the direct click to page 2 of that particular thread, it is not certain that tracert can be used to capture the info in the way that you suggest.

This is a shot in the dark, but when I did a search on Google for 'theunholytrinity' --

almost all the references are to graphics on the theunholytrinity.org site.

It could be that what you were seeing in the status bar was left over from when your cursor scrolled over someone's signature graphic, and then hung there when there was the delay in the next thread being pulled up.

Oh wait, I just did a search for 'theunholy' on this site (wow, Glenn, that search function is fast), and the results included Ammie's graphic. Her cat pic is from theunholytrinity.org site.

yep, that's where Ammie's kitty comes from.

I can try moving it to my storage space and we'll see if it speeds things up at all.
