1. I'm in a tournament with about 1300 others. It's early, blinds are 15/30, and I've won a couple of big hands, so I am in the top 100 with about 3000 chips.
I'm UTG+1 and get AQs.
I bet 3x and get a caller, then SB goes all-in which is 600 chips for him. I call and the other caller folds.
I get an ace on the flop, he has pocket 8's and gets an 8 on the river.
I still think I would do the same next time though. Thoughts?
2. The very next hand I get AJo UTG and bet 2x. UTG+1 calls, and the guy that just beat me calls, then BB bets 360 ( raises 330) which is half his stack. Here's my mistake I think. Thinking I didn't want anyone else in the draw, rather than call or just put him all-in, I go all-in myself, 2400. UTG+1 calls, 1 fold and BB calls. BB has 88 and UTG+1 has AK. No A,K,or J on the board, but an 8 on the river. I'm out. Ugh.
I'm thinking I should have just called the BB or maybe even folded, but that's easy now that I know the outcome. What's the correct move?
