scope of Disability Insurance field.

I have this interview in a company for Disability Insurance area. Does anyone have any knowledge of how is the scope and growth potential for this type of insurance industry?

When I left IDI 5 years ago I was worried that I would have fewer job opportunities available if I ever wanted to leave my current job.

Those in the market where moving out of the NYC area with a lot of their jobs and the remaining companies seemed to be constantly merging, cutting down the size of the remaing competition.

Two things to consider. Who is the company you are considering and what is their stability to both the market, as well as, their current geographic area.

Second, DI is a good stepping stone to other health insurances. Specifically LTC which is growing and also Medicare Supplement. So even getting into DI, doesn't have to be a dead end if things don't work.
