Write in your best guess as to indentity of the author of the following quote. We'll keep a running tally.

Let's start with this one:

The light bulb is a living antique. It's 91 per cent inefficient. The government is encouraging the transition because they see light as an easy way to meet Kyoto agreement targets.

This kind of technology seems like it would be in the light bulb manufacturers' best interest to keep hidden.
But with the Kyoto legislation, it is more likely to be pursued.
MD, is this an example of something good coming from the govt?
I mean, the lightbulb industry hasn't made an improvement on Thomas Edison's lightbulb in 150 years.
But Kyoto helped bring about change almost instantly.
Is the market just good at 1 thing - making money?
I mean, we're still driving

Vaguely haiku-esque. Left wing.

Probably 2pac. Plus, you have it in for 2pac, so it makes sense that you'd start off with 2pac.

KP wrote that.
If you look to the left of the quote, it tells you. Duh.
But I'm sure Bush would do everything in his power to get more efficient lightbulbs to the consumer. Even if it did mean less profit to "big bulb". Bush is on our side.

Correct 2Pac. It's not that I have it in for 2Pac. I just needed to start with a no-brainer.

Number 2: (This time, write your answers in small font.)

So, Shekky, when the heat comes into GW's kitchen about factual issues as have arisen the last several days, you resort to kindergartenish attacks on personal appearance of relatives of an ex-president? Que suave! What a force to be reckoned with you are.

It's a personal opinion. I don't think she's an exceptional beauty, but I wouldn't have to get drunk to talk to her. I don't get the sense she's ugly inside. I do get the sense that you are.

Number 3:

Oh, poor Paddyboy. You're such the martyr. Nothing is right in the world and everyone ignores you when you tell us this. If it's not a dictator intent on destroying the US after exterminating his own people, then it's a battalion commander arresting a supporter of the dictator a week after the dictator os captured. After all, the President declared that major hostilities were over months ago; shouldn't all our troops be gone by now so that James Rasulo can start building Iraqi-Disneyland?

For you

now my turn, guess the author:

No. Supply side economics is based on three pillars:

(1) at a 0% tax rate, government will get $0 revenue;

(2) at a 100% tax rate, government will get $0 revenue; (because no one will willingly work)

(3) Government revenue is non-negative.

if you assume that government revenue is a continuous function of the tax rate, then there is a maximum amount of tax that government can collect. For all other (lesser) amounts of collected tax, there are two tax rates that will do the job.

The issue of which tax rate to choose is an exercise for the politician.

You'll never guess this one:

By the end of 2001, the US and her allies have destroyed the terrorist training camps, and have Bin Laden and his henchmen in custody. All financial channels have been cut, Bin Laden's money is funneled to the refugees and to rebuilding efforts. Casualties are few on both sides, but the Taliban is one of them - A moderate religious government initally aided by the UN, still rules Afganistan - they allow the US and other countries access and information for continued prevention efforts.

Small terrorist rings still exist, but they do not have the technology nor the funds to carry out large-scale, or bio-chemical attacks - they occassionally attack on a small scale before being stamped out.

The US is still the greatest country on Earth - but we no longer take our security for granted. We tolerate increased surveillance in public places, but still have our privacy rights intact.
