I finally did it. My first 4 yahtzee game. I feel like I had an out of body experience.

Wow, I consider myself a pretty seasoned Yahtzee player and I've never had more than 2!

My score was not all that high given the 4 yahtzees. 560s I think. I've reached 500s a couple other times with 3 yahtzees.

One of the latter yahtzees was 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 another was 2s

I actually had the nerve to go for a 5th with 2 rolls to go- ended up with 1, 1, 1, 1, 3 and got a big old 7 for my chance :lol: I also got a 0 for large straight on the last roll. Do you think I have a right to complain about the poor finish?

Was this using actual dice, or on a handheld version? I find that I'm much more likely to get Yahtzee's on the electronic game.

No wonder you got whacked.

Wait a minute. How could you have gotten in the 560's considering no large straight, a 7 in chance and the fact that you had to zero three other things out for each yahtzee beyond the first? I figure your max score is in the 530's. That's assuming you zeroed out 1's and 2's (and still got got the 35 point upper bonus somehow) and, say, 4 of a kind. So that'd be about 100 pts for the upper section and 430's for the lower (20's in 3K, 0 in 4K, 25 in FH, 30 in SS, 0 for LS, 350 for Yahtz and 7 for Chance.

Because you don't zero things out after the first yahtzee, you get bonus points. Where did you learn to score?

If I recall it probably was about like this:

1's = 5*
2's = 10*
3's = 9
4's = 12
5's = 15
6's = 18

for a top of 69 mmmm
plus bonus 35
equals subtotal = 104

3 of a kind = 27 (6,6,6,5,4)
4 of a kind = 21 (5,5,5,5,1)
full house = 25 (2,2,2,2,2)*
sm st8 = 30
large st8 = 0
chance = 7 (1,1,1,1,3)
1st yahtzee = 50 (5,5,5,5,5)*
bonus yahtzee points = 300

subtotal lower = 460

total = 564

Dang!!! when I was a kid we always played you had to zero something out (that wasn't already taken, of course) to get the 100 bonus points.
So for instance, if you have only Large Straight remaining - and you've already gotten one Yahtzee - you would have to take 0 in LS to get the additional 100 points if you roll Yahtzee

That's how I was always taught to score (I learned from either my parents or my brothers, I don't remember).

They were probably trying to cheat. You should bring this up at the next family get-together.

full house = 25 (2,2,2,2,2)*

Since when can you use a Yahtzee as a Full House?

Since when can you use a Yahtzee as a Full House?
You can, but why would you want to? You're better off scoring it as a Yahtzee, even if you subsequently have to put a 0 under FH.
