I'm going to be in Hartford on business for three days this week and thought I'd spend one night at either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.
Anyone have a preference? Is one a lot closer to Hartford than the other? I think MS is 10 miles closer, but I'm not sure.
Not going to play poker (well, video poker maybe). Just want the atmosphere and to check it out.

Foxwoods sponsors Red Sox telecasts on NESN so I say go there. It looks like a lot of fun.

never been to woods (thats my next trip up to that area) mohegan sun is very nice, but lacks a poker room, but if you're not looking to play then its up to you. (when you going? do i here a rf get together???)

Mohegan Sun is an easier drive to Hartford. I usually go there, but I've been to Foxwoods a few times, too. Foxwoods is larger, but both are fun.

I used to prefer Mohegan but now that I started playing poker Foxwoods tops my list. If you aren't looking to play poker I'd go with Mohegan though.

Mohegan has better restaurants and a better atmosphere in general, IMO. However, I have no idea how the two rate in terms of gambling, because that's not generally why I'm there.

Usually because we go to see a concert or something.
Or we get dragged there by friends.
Gambling isn't my thing (I don't know how to play the real games and slots is too much like flushing your money down the toilet to be fun). We only live 45 mins away and have good friends 20 mins away so it's not like it's too much of a haul or anything.

I ended up going to Mohegon Sun. Got lost along the way (Missed 2 East and almost ended up in Mass!) Took 32 South from I-84. Nice drive actually.
The casinos are huge and beautiful, as casinos go. Didn't care for the high table minimums and the video poker machines that took 100 coins at a time!

Been to Mohegan, pretty nice place. I highly recommend Michael Jordan's Cafe up there. Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to have Tasha serve you, you will not be disappointed!! Just ask Expunge!!
