Good stats. How do you keep track of time?

I made an assumption that it takes 5 minutes for each place - 5 minutes to come in last and 50 minutes for 1st.

is that close to true you think?

I'd go with longer intervals and assume 1,2,3 ALL take 50min to 1 hour.

It seems the first 2 rounds take about 20 min (and from my experience 1 to 3 people are gone at this point)

It depends on the amount of the tournament. Probably a fair estimate, though.
