Poker: Finally figured out how to play AA

Here's the situation: After an evening of bad plays and bad beats, I decided to give it one more shot before bed. Problem was, the only SnG available was a $40 (I usually play $5 and the occasional $10). Partly due to being on tilt and partly due to having turned my free $10 into $270 over the last two weeks, I decided it was time to gamble a bit...so I said "what the heck" and entered the $40. I knew I was graduating from the rookie league to the big leagues, so I was going to have to bring my A game.

Finally!!!

A few hands later, got AA again from early position this time, and only raised 2x. Got called by 44 and doubled him up when he flopped a set...that's the last time I will ever try to get fancy with aces! Ended up fighting for survival the rest of the game and hung on to finish 3rd for a net profit of $28. It was a fun one-time thing, but now back to the $5 SnG's until I get my FCAS and I can afford the big ones!

At this point where you worried about the straight? It's not likely since he shouldn't have called pre-flop with 89s, but I've been beat by worse moves.

He may have made the assumption that 89 folded after his preflop bet of $120.

Trips should rarely be slowplayed, but I like it here.

If he has 89 oh well you lose and he was a moron (a lucky moron at that) for going for the inside straight and for playing 89 preflop.

It's from AbsolutePoker...the software is terrible but can't beat the $10 no-deposit bonus and the site is full of fish.
