View Full Version : POKER: Quality of Play (Expunge?)

I played in a few $100 tourneys last night and noticed that the play wasn't even similar to the play I ran into late on Friday night.
I know this is probably obvious but the difference was HUGE.
In one tourney I exited in the 5th round for 8th place! On Friday end of 5th round was either money or 4th.
So here's what I'm hoping to do (and hoping Expunge can help out?):
Using Tracker.
Get the Average number of players left at the end of each round by:
Time of Play
Day of Play and
Entry fee
(Also if possible I think the following would be useful)
Variance of stacks at the end of each round (Always assuming players out have 0 and there and N = 10)
(I also think this could be used to show 'how much better is the play at $X the $Y)
First off do you think this would be the correct stats to grab for Table Difficulty?
i have decided to go to the 50's until the weekends and see how that goes.
BTW (I did manage to take a second in one of the three tourneys last night, so I'm not bitter about losing (only lost $27) but felt like I really had to work for that. And Friday was fish in a barrell.)

Something like this could probabily be done, would definately take some work on the access side, I'm not sure when i'll get time to look at it.
I wonder if this also helps explain why it appears that i run into tough competition even at the small tables. I usually start as soon as i get home, (east coast, short commute) so i'm probabily hitting the tail end of the higher quality players, maybe i should wait till later in the evening when all the fish are already home from work.

Obviously i've been asked to pull some information out of tracker multiple times. Usually its fairly interesting information but most of it's biased based on my play and my time of play. I was thinking that those of you that like to see all these numbers could help me build a bigger DB. All i would need is for some hand histories to be sent to me. So for those of you willing to please start forwarding hand histories and tournament summaries to littleriver@optonline.net. For those that have tracker themselves just forward them before you import them (especially if you set tracker to delete them automatically). For those of you that play at stars, you can request a weeks worth of play at a time so just pick a day of the week to always request hand histories.

Does this get all the tournaments as well (multi, SnG, and heads up)?

i think it gets all the tournament hands as well. I think the only tricky thing is the tournament summaries, even if you request your last 100 summaries, only your last 3 are full summaries (listing each place of all the finishers) So for tournament summaries its best to request these often, but the weekly request on hand histories should pull all your hands regardless of tournament / ring game.

I have already deleted all mine. I do have tracker though with a few hundred Sit and Go's (mostly 50, 100, and a few 30 and 200)
Is there a way I can send that?

I think you can export histories to a file, I'll have to look at that to see how it works.

Yes, you can. I can export my hand histories for you, or send you the HHDB.mdb and PTRACK.mdb. You can then copy those in as additional secondary databases.

I thought about the sending the mdb files, but i think there will be conflicts of uniqueness. ie I already have a hand that tracker has called hand #1, if i load your db you also have a hand #1, now there are two different hand #1's. There should be some way auto adjust the numbers, but i think imoporting hand histories is just as easy.

It's really easy. You just need to rename the ptrack.db and use your DB utilities in the poker tracker menu. Either way works for me.
