Anybody have the phone number for Bob Greene, or Tom West, or Al Stein?

Notice anything similar about these numbers?

Bob Green (818) 991-3060

Am I the only one to notice that these three recruiters are the same person? I know that recruiters often change their last name, but why assume several identities?

Bob G. placed me - he works with a group of other recruiters - Their co. has one phone #

Great. More rules around here.

That's not a rule. Definitely not enforced if it were.
It's a cry for help, and I'm with Stu.

OK, I'll try to think this through before exercising the freedom of expression that this board provides. Call the phone number that you have for Bob. Ask for Tom, and see if the person on the other end says, "this is Tom". Now hang up and call back later. This time ask for Bob, and see if the person says "this is Bob".

I was placed by one of them and got a christmas card from another, who I had never talked to. I have also heard stories of the crossing of ID's from other actuaries.

How about Al's (Al Lightener that is) phone #? From everything I've heard on the CAS and the old Rebel board, he could be fun just to talk to.

I think that's a different Al, whose last name escapes me at the moment.

Oh, I think that was the right Al. Did he ever describe the position as "avaunt guarde"? I probably didn't spell that right, but you get the idea.

Al Lightner is a very special guy. I haven't heard his name in years, but trust me, any stories you hear are probably true.

When I was a student, we used to transfer him all over the floor when he called one of us, just so we could all be in on the joke.

Did he ever send you copies of the newspaper articles he was in? How about the biker magazine he appeared in?

He sent the biker thing to someone in our office. He had it up in his cube for a while.

And it's not just actuaries that appreciate all that is Al. He once spent a half hour on a Sunday conversing with my wife, who picked up the phone while I was out....

yeah; did the same to my wife, did the same to me. based on his speech patterns, she's pretty sure he was completely hammered at the time.

he wanted me to send him a bottle of JD to 'hang on his wall' in memory of our time together. when the deal was sealed, it became a case.

in another conversation he told me if he showed up drunk for work one more time he would lose his job.

i never sent a drop. honestly, i was a little afraid he might 'drop in' on me one day at home; or worse, at work.

I can't believe this Bob Greene thing. How does a guy like that get credibility?

How can you trust a guy to represent you if he won't even give you his name?
