Alright, help me out...

I've read the first note, LRF... I'm thinking to myself, what kind of tabs would I put in this section?? I know it's on forecasting... this sounds dumb, but I'm looking for advice on what kind of flags/tabs people used....

Also, are the essays pretty specific, stuff that you KNOW exactly what to put down if you can find it? (i.e. "What is a good Forecast Audit Checklist?") or is it more obscure, like "Describing some different forecasting methods"...

Any help is appreciated...

This is how I passed the Feb pre-test. It might work for you too.

I took the pre-arranged binder from a friend of mine who had taken the pre-test 6 months ago. She had meticulously put tabs/used different colored highlighters/made brief notes on the margins. This saved me a ton of time. I basically put in around 20 hours - reading through very quickly the first time, and then skimming through the highlighted portions twice.

If you know someone who has put in a lot of work arranging the binder, just borrow theirs - it will save you 2/3rds of the time.

For the LRF note, I put a yellow tab at the top of the first page (I did this for every note -- I switched to the bottom when the top was full). Then I put green tabs along the side at the beginning of each chapter (I divided chapter 8 into 3 tabs). When you get to the futurism note, I put green tabs along the bottom for each chapter in it and a white tab along the side for each "tool" in that chapter. I also did green chapter tabs for 7P-27-00. The rest were just the yellow study note tabs with no subdivisions.

With in each study note, I would use green highlighter on the major headings, blue on the sub-headings, and yellow to highlight text. The colors meant things to me, so it helped me figure out where I was and where to find what I was looking for.

At least in my pretest, the essays were pretty specific. I would flip open to where I knew to find the answer and write down what I had highlighted in yellow.

LRF - put tabs every 10 pages, labeled "10", "20", "30", etc. and also write yourself a little table of contents. There are too many topics in there to distinctly tab them (you'd have 300 tabs for that section: thank YOU SOA for making this study note not only duplex but with 2 pages per page to thwart us from tabbing them)

Helpful Highlighting Tip: make advantages green and disadvantages red, whenever anything is being compared with something else. There are lots of such topics and IMO they invite essays.

Run it through the photocopier to get one per page. If the proctor questions it, tell them it was for readability purposes. Which is the truth.

Thanks for the advice so far....

I was thinking that LRF needed tabs on like every third page and I was thinking that the entire package would be the same.... sounds like the other study notes may be a little more specific in what they cover...

Run what through the photocopier?

Now that the format of the pre-test has changed from essay to multiple choice and true/false, does anyone have any additional helpful hints? Thanks.

Can we take the pre-test (not the same as registering for the actual course 7 seminar) having passed only 5 out of the 6 exams?

I don't think there is any restriction on taking the pre-test. However, you have to attend a seminar within 12 months of taking the pre-test.

Someone told me the pre-test was now changed so that it is all multiple choice. Is this not true?
