From HTP3 2-10.1:
A life aged 55 is subject to three sources of decrement. Force 1 is constant force =.04, #2 is deMoivre with omega =100 in its single decrement table, and #3 is de moivre with omega = 94.17. What is the prob. that decrement happens between times 3 and 5 and decrement happens from cause 1? ans. = .05163.

My thought is Integrate from 3 to 5, p(tau)*mu(1). This lead to a messy int by parts and I was still off by quite a bit. I went through the integration twice and came up with the same answer, which means that I still probably screwed up the calculus. My first guess is that I am missing something conceptually. Thanks in advance.

Hey Smash. Your problem is now my problem -- I am not getting that answer either. It sounds like you set it up correctly, which I get as 0.055836. I also tried 3p(t)55 * integral(0,2){sp(t)58*.04ds}, which is also 0.055836. If that's what you got as well, I say we declare Klein to have the wrong answer.

Same answer here. I just thought something had to be wrong in my setup.
