Anyone else annoyed at the constant changing of NCAA basketball games by CBS? I'm tired of tuning in to watch a particular game and then break away for some other game that I have no interest in. I am an Indiana fan and I want to watch the Indiana games in their entirety. They broke away from the Indiana - UNC-Willmington game to the Kansas - Stanford game that was a bigger blow out. Why would you do that?? I missed 14 minutes of the Indiana - Utah game to watch two games to their conclusion and one of them was a blowout. I hope that the NCAA eventually goes with another network when the contract is up.

I found that annoying too how they are constantly flipping back and forth. What do you do though? Contract more than one company?

CBS does suck. The one way to get around the suckage is to go to a bar with a satellite if you want to catch all the action. That way, you don't have to worry about all the changes.

You have two choices right now: go to a sports bar or buy a dish. ESPN used to do a much better job with the early rounds of the tourney but I think I actually liked the way they jumped around unless my team was playing.

I have a complaint, but one actually on the other side of the coin. Thursday night, around 8 EST, they were showing the Charlotte-ND game, which, during the 2nd half, turned into a complete blowout. Meanwhile, Kansas-Holy Cross and Gonzaga-Wyoming were both extremely close. They stayed with the Charlotte-ND game until it ended!!!! So sometimes they don't switch often enough.

I hate it when they switch over to a game where an upset is happening and then the favorite goes on a run. I know it sounds illogical, but don't jinx it!! CBS switched to the Kansas/ Holy Cross Game when Holy Cross was up by about 5. By the time they switched back, Kasnsas was up by 5.

It's divided up by region though, so that's good. For example, if you live in Missouri, then you're always going to be able to see Missouri play. They try to put on whatever game will be of most interest to who's watching.

Does CBS offer a package of games via satellite?
I liked it better when ESPN was doing it. It seemed to know which game was more important, and didn't concern itself with showing the games in any kind of time range. Start earlier on the East Coast (say, 10AM first game), end up late on the West Coast (say 10PM last game).
ABC could do a great job, with ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Family channels all showing all the games.

What I didn't like was being switched to a game that was close with 2 minutes to go then one team seemed to be taking control and with that team up by 5 with 30 to 45 seconds left they switch back to the original game that still has 5 minutes to go. In all of those cases the team that was ahead when they left won but I like to see the last 30 to 45 seconds of the game when it is that close you never know what is going to happen.

In the UCLA Missouri game, Missouri was pulling away but the Bruins had the ball maybe to catch up, and suddenly the screen goes blank and they are showing the Kent State Pitt ending. In LA! Boy was that annoying. And the Missouri cheerleading in the second half by the broadcasters was pretty obvious. Guess they though nobody roots for UCLA anymore. The broadcasters always root for the underdog, and I guess that made the UCLA Cincinatti game fun for me, a UCLA fan, but I think they have to be more balanced. These are kids, you know.

At least you didn't have to suffer through Bill Walton announcing a game his son is playing.

Funny, I thought they were all adults.
Oh, you were referring to UCLA.
Then nevermind.

It depends on where you are. If you're in the "local area," (e.g. in Indiana for IU), you get the game till the bitter end, no matter what the score. If not, they'll switch you away from a blowout.

The biggest drawback when ESPN was covering the games was that they had the rights to only the games they were showing. By agreement with the NCAA, they could only show a total of two or three minutes of any other game. If you had a blowout game, you were stuck with it until a closer game had a couple of minutes to go.
