I am going to try to create all the models in excel, once I have completed that I will make these models available. How widespread I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking anyone who posts a reasonable amount here with answers to questions or thought on exam 9 will definetely qualify.

I will need someone (or someones) to verify that the models are correct.

And Starting here a list of the models:

Here is my starting list:

Robbin:
1. CY Investment Income Offset
2. PV Offset
3. CY Return on Equity
4. PVI / PVE Model
5. PV Cash Flow Return Model
6. Risk Adjusted Discount Model
7. IRR on Equity Flow Model
D Arcy
8. Discounted Cash Flow Model
9. Applications of Option Pricing Models to Pricing Insurance
Butsic
10. Determining the Proper Interest Rate for Loss Reserve Discounting
Ferrari
11. Relationship of UW, Investment, Leverage, etc.
Roth
12. Analysis of Surplus and Rate of Return
Feldblum
13. IRR Model
Mango
14. ??????

I think this is everything from Volume 1 Part D of the All 10 book.

My goal is to have this all done by August 1st.

If we could get others willing to do the same for other sections maybe we could get a group to get excel models for all of this stuff?

Curious what others think and how we should decide on a distribution network.

I don't typically start serious studying until August 1st, but if you want me to take a shot at putting one or two of these together, I should have time in July.

Edit: Oops ... I misread the post. You're going to do all of those? :o

I'm sure I can put together the Experience rating models and maybe the retro rating model (Retro rating is tricky for me, since that's part of what I do at work and we do it a different way than NCCI ;-) )

I will probably be writing CAS 9 as well. All we have to do is discuss the material during our poker games, and we will have no problem passing.

Yeah sounds like a lot; but this is my third time taking this exam :swear: . And I have already got a pretty good start on putting the models in excel from last year.

It's my second time taking this exam, but it's my fourth time seeing the Robbin paper. :swear: I won't start studying for another couple of weeks, but I might be willing to help out.

I actually sat for Part 9 with Robbin last year. I wonder if he passed? :-?

That's right. I effectively blocked that one out of my mind from my old Part 6 days. Took a couple stabs at that one and failed miserably. Was very happy to see the Robbin paper (among others) off the syllabus and cruised my way to a passing grade in post-transition Exam 5. Don't exactly look forward to seeing Ira's paper again, but then again after Exam 7 I can handle just about anything....
