As I study for exams 1 & 2, I am looking to break up my studying of the study guides and recommended textbooks and was wondering if anyone had any opinions or ideas?

For exam 1, I've perused a few books on Calculus (Calculus the Easy Way, Forgotten Calculus, Schaums outline, etc.) and also some CD-Rom's (Math Advantage and Pro One) along with some similar things for Probability/Stats and was not really thrilled with any of them.

For exam 2, I found an Amazon highly recommended book called Microeconomics the Easy Way (not that I'm buying it from Amazon since the library has it) and have messed around with a few online tutorials (one from a guy at the U of South Carolina is decent). Also, I found online a cheap ($15) CD-Rom from Pro One (who seems to have cranked out alot of education software but then stopped after The Learning Company bought them out - but I digress) called "MBA" that has tutorials and test questions on Econ, Finance, and Business Stats that I went ahead and ordered because I'm thinking I might get a bit out of it by using it at night to keep me awake after having my nose in books all during the day.

Any thoughts, opinions or other ideas about this? Only 7 weeks to go! Thanks.

When I wanted to re-learn Calculus cheaply for Exam 1 (I had last taken calculus as a college freshman 10 years earlier), I found some nice online calculus tutorials. I also found a couple of Barron's books in the library called "Remembering Calculus" and "Remembering Statistics". They were good for going into detail anything in my Actex books that I didn't remember well. I never used an official Course 1 book.

For Exam 2, I think the Corporate Finance and Microeconomics books are very good for self-study and I doubt you would need something alternative. But once, when I was looking for TV shows to record with Tivo, I stumbled upon a TV series on TLC or something like it called Intro to Microeconomics and Intro to Macroeconomics. They were interesting background noice for when I was eating or getting ready for work and went over the same stuff on the exams, especially the qualitative questions.

hi,, just wondering what is a good order for studying course2 (the 4 different section). does theory of interest must go before corp. finance?

Yes interest theory should be read before Corp FInance. But if you are just starting now for May, good luck. There is a lot of material.
