The survey is out... Let them know how you really feel about the study notes.

I can't get there. The link is too long, and my email sucks.

Okay, I finally got it. Couldn't use the link, so I just copied the address to the browser. Do the same , DTNF.

I tried that. I CAN read, you know.
OK, I'll try one more time. Still doesn't work.

Are these unique to each surveyed person? If not, could someone paste the link here?

Ok, maybe I'm just slow today, but I DON'T GET the study note questions. Are they important to me? Yes, because I'll be tested on them! Otherwise, no, not at all. Are they useful in studying? Yes because otherwise it would be pretty hard to answer questions about them! How do you answer these things???

I hope everybody makes a comment about how they shouldn't withhold old exams.

Sorry about that.
Are there supposed to be answers already filled in (7's on this one, for example)? If not, then I think this is YOUR survey, not a generic one.
You might want to edit that out of your post, if you want your answers to have your opinions.

You are right. That was my own survey. I guess this IS individualized. I was just thinking on my way home how they would prevent a person from answering the survey more than once. I guess you can't do it.

Did you finally access the survey? You didn't change my answers now, did you? I don't really care. I wish they had indifferent or no opinion as a choice. I guess a 5 would be sorta that. It was long. I got bored.

Looks like each questionnaire's web page has a unique id and password combo.
If I could just reach the phone from here, and call -- too far away. Now it's ringing. I wonder who it is?

Huh? You lost me there.

So, I am assuming that the SOA sent this to people who are in the SOA directory, sinnce they used our e-mails. That means only lettered people got this? No input then from students? Am I right?

I think they sent it to students that fill in their email address when they sign up for exams, and ASAs and FSAs.

Btw. I totally forgot to mention them not releasing old exams. I let em have it on the marketing end though. CFAs, and MBAs should not be paid more than FSAs.

I mean that each person sent an e-mail received a different web page to go to. And that one would have a difficult time guessing a web page.

The web address (yours and the one I was sent) contained some unusual data that I opined is an id and password.

They might have went it to anyone whose e-mail address is known. That might incldue students who have ever e-mailed the SOA.

You can go back and change that, I think.

Shoot, I put 0's for how useful the study notes are and should they have them. I totally forgot that we won't be able to pass the tests without them! Sorry, guys.

So, what, you want them to replace the material with texts they don't provide? You want them to make the syllabus smaller? (I wouldn't really mind that, but I doubt that's what's going to happen or even what the survey was getting at.) You think the study notes are horrible *in comparison to* the other exam material? Personally, I'd say they are about the same, but they didn't ask anything about what we thought of the syllabus as a whole.

I still don't understand the question.

You are wrong Me. The study notes are worse than the texts. If you don't believe me why don't you reread the discussion on interest rate generators, and the "Educational Note: Measurement of Exposure to Interest Rate Risk."

I agree the texts are much better but they are better. The Investments text is pretty good. Overlooking the Fabozzi duration contradiction on pages 110 in HBGIS of forgeting first derivatives and temporal defintions of duration... The HBFIS is pretty good too in some parts. The grey investment book was good. But all of the study notes seem to just be a waste of energy.

I hate the study notes. I suggest that you get with man and hate them too.

What survey? Really. I did not receive any email or snail mail. I see the survey page on the SoA. I also have received things from the SoA via email before. Could someone please post a link.

From the SOA page on the survey (last two lines):

Please complete the survey by April 17, 2002.

If you need further information or did not receive the survey, please contact Sheree Baker at sbaker@soa.org

So if you didn't get your own invite / password / etc, you could send Sheree a note and ask her to get you one. However, if you waited till today to do it, you're probably out of luck.
