Hi,
How do you do matrix inversion using BA-35 or TI-30X calculators? Matrix inversion could become necessary in some Markov chain problems. Can we assume that SOA will not ask a question that will involve calculating a determinant or an inversion of a matrix?

i don't know how to do it but i would love to know!

The SOA may ask you to invert a 2x2 matrix, and at worst case a simplified 3x3. I'd just memorize the formulas -- you'll need them in C4.

I'd be surprised to see matrix inversion play much of a role for course #3. It's important enough for Klein to mention it in the preliminary portion of his How to Pass Course 3 book, so I would not totally discount it.

Like was said above, you definitely need this skill for course #4, and I doubt they are suddenly going to let you bring your TI-99 next sitting. I would get used to inverting a small matrix by hand now...
