View Full Version : In a naughty kind of mood

I just got spammed by a new recruiter looking to place a well rounded FCAS with lots of experience. The recruiter actually put desired salary and it's low. I'm tempted to e-mail back "Sounds cheap. What's wrong with them?" :P

The only thing holding me back is that I feel kind of sorry for the FCAS looking. It's a small market here and I could probably figure out who it is with little to no effort. :shake:

Sounds like a legit question to me. Even if you're not really looking for a candidate, it gives the recruiter some extra info - so everyone makes out. Recruiter gets info, you get a cheap laugh.

Yea, I'd do it.

The actuary may just be coming from somewhere that's low paying and isn't aware of salaries. More likely it's because most people have a tough time asking for what they want or higher and think they're doing the right thing by lowballing. So I wouldn't have it reflect on the actuary - but I'd still tweak the nose of the recruiter :D.

I'm going to guess "A State Insurance Department."

What's naughty about this?

I don't think this is naughty at all, its good example of good clean fun.

I generally wouldn't hold it against the actuary unless the job was in consulting. A consultant sometimes has to work with a client to set the fee for a particular project. If he can't set an appropriate fee for his own services, how in the world is he going to negotiate a proper fee for the firm's services?

1) do it

2) respond "but I am quite well rounded" and give your measurements. Feel free to embellish if necessary

Maybe a peer review is necessary...

Obviously a new recruiter if they are into spamming. Every other recruiter uses the phone lines.

Funny, Elmo had asked the same thing. "144" refers to my candidate number for the last 2 exams I took, both of which were successful. Nice to know that my lucky number is "gross". (But I still like gefilte fish....)

Was this conclusion reached at every previous self-administered exam, or just the last one?
