I haven't been able to find a link yet, but I heard on the radio that the Chicago Whitesox fired the announcer-guy recently for playing "Here I Go Again" (by Whitesnake) when Chuck Finley was entering the game. Apparently he complained. In case you miss the humor, Chuck's wife (ex-wife to be?) is Tawny Kitaen...of "Here I Go Again" video fame....and who kicked him badly enough that he missed at least one of his starts.

Talk amoung yourselves...should the guy have been fired for trying to get inside the head of an apposing pitcher? I vote no. Give him a warning if you want to appear to be sensitive to Finley's feelings and make him apologize publicly, maybe.

All true. And while it's not a link to an article describing the actual firing, this is a pretty amusing treatment by ESPN Page 2's Jim Caple.

Shouldn't have been fired, IMO. I guess they don't have a sense of humor.

Now I can have my big celebration for post #300. Whoooooo!

Gee, Finley might not have a sense of humor over his marriage falling apart and his wife assaulting him and being arrested for it? What kind of a stick-in-the mud is he?

Seriously, I think that this incident was well over the line. Things like making fun of a returning player who left the club for bigger bucks (e.g. Giambi) are fair game, but this one was too much. I don't know that firing was necessary, but I'm not upset by it, either.

As a life-long Tribe sufferer, what kind of idiots do the ChiSox employ? This was a classic! I'm still LMAO. I don't even think an apology is in order. I think the music guy should not only have his job (still), but also the job(s) of any of the morons who wanted him removed. He seems to have more sense than the front office idiots. That Finley was distracted by this (and subsequently shelled for 9 runs in less than 2 innings) indicates his mind is clearly not on his job.

They could have at least played it on the organ, where most people wouldn't have caught on.
Probably don't have an organ.

Besides, they have Kenny Lofton's poor choice of music and hot bat. that should be enough.
