Please help me with my Avatar

I have no idea why my avatar takes so much space (14 Kb) :(

I saved it to my hard drive and resized it. But I can't get it to work and I guess it's because of the size.

Is it a jpg? Jpgs can be saved at various tradoff levels of quality/compression. If you graphic software lets you, tell it to compress the file more.

If it's a gif (or bmp), save it as a jpg.

I had that problem where mine was too big. (Never thought I'd say that)
I did what Pseudolus suggests by shrinking it down and getting a little worse quality.
