in using the "Tables" in the exam booklets (e.g. the Illustrative Life Table for C3)? I find it rather time-consuming to go back and forth looking up tables. I hate it when they give problems that involve finding a bunch of mortality rates using the Illustrative Life Table. It took me about 5 minutes just to look up those stupid numbers, and there would be no time left to do any thinking or solving.
Do you have any suggestions on how to speed this up?

When I wrote Course 3, I asked the proctor if I could rip the tables out of the booklet. The proctor was ok with this. This way I didn't have to keep flipping back and forth between the question page and the table I needed. It eliminated some of the headache.

Thanks, Course_Woman. I'll try my luck with the proctor this time.
I heard that the SOA didn't allow you to rip the tables out of the exam booklet, if you asked them. Would you be disqualified for doing this?

Someone I work with wrote Course 4 yesterday and the tables were separate from the exam booklet.

Yes, they were. It was great.
