View Full Version : Appreciation from Iran

Today I researched Iran a little and learned something interesting. They're mortal enemies with the Taliban. They back the Taliban's opposition militarily and routinely have anti-Taliban protests.
So when we take out the Taliban, it'll be the second time in the last decade that we've taken out Iran's biggest enemy. 10 years ago we removed the burden of Iraq from them and now we're going to remove their new biggest burden, the Taliban.
Without us, Iran could easily be a part of Iraq now and in a few years they would be directly at war with the Taliban.
A little appreciation, a thank you at least? Ungrateful b******s.

For their Friday prayers immediately after 9/11, they did change their traditional chant of "Death to America! Death to Israel!" to just "Death to Israel!". Baby steps, baby steps.
Maybe they think that we owe them after they were nice enough to give back the hostages 20 years ago!

We actually supported the burden of Iraq for years in the 80's precisely cause they were fighting iran. we also do bear some responsibility for the taliban's ascension, since we couldn't bear to let the afghanis have a communist gov't. Moreover, we have had sanctions against Iran, considered an act of war, for decades now. I think we're their biggest enemy. And we support a terrorist group that is trying to overthrow the iranian gov't, so they can install thieir "marxist - islamic" gov't.
So, no they shouldn't be too appreciative of all the nice things we've done for them. I'm surprised they weren't celebrating when the towers collapsed. Guess they can differentiate between american people and american politicians. Which is pretty touching. and maybe we should differentiate between iranians and their rulers.

Are you suggesting the U.S. supported the Taliban?

We didn't really support Iraq in their war with Iran. If you notice, all of Iraq's military equipment in the Gulf war was Russian. Migs, T-nn tanks etc. Iran actually got more military equipment from us than Iraq during that war.
