I've put this thread together to discuss theories regarding players surviving in the EC game.

Feel free to throw out any ideas that you may have or discuss theories brought up in the game thread.

Nobody rush to judgment yet, we need to be organized in our haunting.

Firstly, if the students are going to lynch Gandalf anyway, shouldn't we use our turn to haunt someone they might not be thinking of?

I have recently gotten suspicious of Jables. He is so quick to spot things in the EC's posts, that perhaps he is posting as EC, and putting quirky stuff in there, so that he can later spot it?

My apologies, RSF, I moved your post to start this thread up.

I agree about Jables and sent J.T. a PM discussing the same thing. His post about the use of "Tim" vs. "Tim><" should have involved a lot of research. I'll admit, I'm not "search savvy", but I would have taken at least an hour+ to get anywhere near that level of detail. Yet he insists that those players listed "NEVER" left off the "><" from Tim's name.

IMO, his list would be a good place to hide an EC partner or two.

I still think Tim and 4sigma are.

Those are my two hunches at this point.

Tim always shoots his mouth off, but something about a few of his posts made me think he was trying to hard.

4sigma seems to be steering a few of the votes. I haven't put my finger on who he was steering them away from, but it seems his is protecting his EC friends.

My apologies to Lawfi5h as well, for copying your post.

This is another theory that is worth discussing. Since Lawfi5h refers to "Tim><" as "Tim", Lawfi5h is EC! :D

I think that Tim>< is just being himself so far. He's taunting the EC to get them to post right now. This is a great ploy, if he is EC, since he has nothing to fear by doing it. Remember that last game, Tim>< (who was Karma Police) ran deception for the ghost forum. He did a heck of a job. Since the EC has shown that they're not hesitant to kill an antagonist (that's me), Tim><'s worth keeping an eye on.

4sigma is more interesting, IMO. He certainly was trying to deflect votes from me when RSF got lynched. We corresponded about it via PM. However, that doesn't make me think that he's less likely to be EC. Since 4sigma is very methodical, if he were EC, he'd likely try to get me in his good graces before killing me off. He knows that I'm not shy about stating my opinion, especially in the ghost forum. So, if I would "go to bat" for him in this forum, he'd have half of the battle to stay alive won. He'd just have to convince the students not to lynch him. If he were pulling the strings with 2-3 other EC, that would not be too hard.

Even though there were conspiracy theories surrounding my death (specifically that I never said I was an innocent student), I can assure you that I am not EC.

That was an omission due to my first time through the game.

I think that is easily confirmed due to the fact that aces will not get access in here.

How do you know that Aces isn't one of my other ID's? :tfh:

Maybe that's why this ID had to be executed by the EC right after Aces died... :o

j/k, since EK is a stickler for rules, I'm sure that no one in here is EC.

So, I wonder why didn't EK let you edit your death scene (it was a good one by the way) and add that you were an innocent student?

A shot in the dark here, but there were about 2.5 hours between the Exam Committee posting their "immunity" game rules and me receiving my execution notice. Either the EC had already decided who they were going to kill and sent that info to Mr. P. (asking him to send it to me at a certain time), or at least one of them was on the forum around 5:45 PM EST on December 15th.

Jables, is there an efficient way to search for all posts between 3:10 PM EST and 5:45 PM EST made by players in the EC game?

We know that Tim><, RPO, Leela, thing, J.T., 4sigma, Gandalf, Dave Barry, Jables, Macavity, and Butters posted in the game thread. I wonder if other players posted elsewhere during that time frame.

Also, not necessarily related, Captain Nemo's post (http://www.actuary.ca/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=44189&postdays=0&postorder=asc&sta rt=1126) was 2 minutes after I received my death notice from Mr. P. I don't know how long it had been since the EC stole my avatar, but I don't think it had been long. When he says "We got one", was he meaning that the EC got one?

Eh, I'll give it a shot, but not right now... I'm braindead right now and watching MNF. I'll see what I can get you later (maybe tomorrow)

I must admit, it took me a long while to figure out what MNF stood for...

This last post by the EC in the main thread has me wondering. I'm quite thrilled they didn't mess with my son's pic, and definitely CTM over the avatar.

The remaining EC definitely have someone with some history of the game, probably someone fairly involved. It is someone with avatar experience (Travis??)

I also wonder if they gave an exact probability or just wrote out a number. If it is exact, we would be able to figure out how many of the EC are remaining. I'm not smart enough to do this, so I'll hope someone else could.

***Plus, I'm just wasting time until results come out.***

The EC post is taking a jab at Travis (mad busting photoshop skills). We can't disregard all of the "frame ups", so it doesn't rule Travis out.

The probability is likely made up, a dig on 4sigma is what it looks like.

**Good luck**

Ok, I think your time zone settings are different from mine, but I still managed to search on the time frame between the Exam Committee's post and when you say you received your death notice. Unfortunately, there's not too much to go on here. Most of the people who made posts in the EC thread were the ones who has posts elsewhere if any at all

4sigma – 2 posts in the EC game thread

All Clear – No posts

Anonymouse – No posts

Asynchronous – No posts

Butters – 4 posts in the EC game thread

Captain Nemo – 2 posts in the EC game thread between the time Rocky got his death notice and posted his death scene

Dave Barry - 3 posts, all in the EC game thread

Gandalf – 2 posts in the EC game thread, 5 posts in the EC immunity game tangent thread, 1 post in Dictionary!

Leela – 5 posts in the EC game thread

Macavity – 1 post in the EC game thread, 1 post in NonActuarial

Macroman – No posts

Rolie Polie Olie – 4 posts in the EC game thread

Snafu – No posts

Tim>< - lots of posts in the EC game thread, 8 posts in the EC immunity game tangent thread, 7 more in Games, 11 in NonActuarial, 5 in Political, 3 in Surveys, 4 in the Reef, 4 in Sports, 1 in Course 3

Travis – No Posts

Ult Anyone? – No Posts

Werewolf – 1 post in NonActuarial

Thanks, Jables.

I hope that it wasn't too much work for you to get the info together (if Tim>< wasn't involved, it would have been much less effort :D ).

Werewolf is listed as making a non-game post. He's more of a night owl, usually. He's been very quiet in the EC game thread. I think he's worth trying to put some pressure on with a haunt or two (not this round, though).

We tried as EC to be careful not to let our activity be correlated with the timing of known EC actions. When one of us was preparing to make an EC post, we sent each other an alert so that nobody would post under their real ID for 15 minutes before or after the EC post.

I don't recall this specific PM to Mr. Penguin, but my guess would be that the close timing to Nemo's post is a coincidence.
