IASA 8ed Page 2-10 claims that agents' balances are reported on Page 2 lines 10.1-10.3.

I have two annual statements (2003) here; one is for a primary company and one is for a reinsurer. Both have agents' balances on Page 2 Line 12.1-12.3.

What gives? Is there going to be a change for 2004?

Thank you,

Not important. Yes, Line(s) 12 is right. but they will not ask "What line(s) are agent's balances reported on?". Just know where they are in general (balance sheet), why they are there, and what they are in case you need to do a calculation.

Don't lose sight of the forest. Very, very easy to do with this exam.

Forest?!

I'm having trouble memorizing leaf patterns, and I've only done two branches :yikes: :wall:

Thanks!

They moved from line 10 to line 12 in 2003. Things shift lines all the time. Page numbers change not infrequently. (Heck, in 2003, "Statutory Page 14" had made it all the way back to actual page 26.)

That's why they won't ask about line numbers and will rarely ask for a page number. Learn the titles of exhibits and the names of key lines.

Thanks, Fellow Maine-iac ;)

Ya know, I can see the RF version of Tolkein's masterpiece: The Fellowships of the Maniacs.

IIRC, there are a few other "Jolly Good Fellows:" http://www.actuary.ca/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=433587&highlight=both+fcas+fsa#433587

Any others frequent this board?

On the same topic (IASA)...anybody actually copied the readings from the new edition? (A lot of the chapters have changed, I want to be sure I have everything.) If so, are you willing to share? I'll pay the copying costs. Last time I tried to borrow this book from the library, I never got it in time (stupid $%*#@& library)
