Bolded 46th word from the front and back.

Psalm 46 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/index.php?search=psalms%2046&version=9&interface=print)

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

Ebby, hate to break it to you, but that was written in Hebrew a millenium and a half or so before English as a language broke off from its Anglo-Saxon roots :)

Furthermore, you are starting from verse 2. What happened to "A Psalm of the SOns of Korach on an Alumos instrument"? (Free translation from the Hebrew; it's poor, i know  ).

Now, are you counting words Masoretically or not? Certain words in the Biblical Hebrew are handed down with a maqaph, which implies that although they are separate words, they are treated as one for certain punctuation, cantillation, and derivation purposes.

Let's disregard Masoretic traditions and verse 1 for this post, just for kicks. The 46th word from the front would be: נתן, "He gave." The 46th word from the back would be: ארץ, or "Land"

As I said, this is counting words as they are spoken, disregarding any Masoretic traditions, and conveniently forgetting the first verse.

Draw your own conclusions :)

You do realize that I am using the King James version. I am accusing a translator of slipping his name into it.

So don't mind me, I'm just checking in :)

You think Sir Frances PorkBelly did the KJV translation?

I heard the rumor in high school. An Anonymouse post made me think of it again.

You want a link to me hearing it in high shool?

Seriously, type "Shakespeare Psalm 46" into any search engine. The rumor is rampant.

Isn't this related to that "Bible Code" that some people have done research on?

I believe they actually use the original Hebrew though.

Furthermore, I wonder if there is a Bible Code for the tsunami that has taken over 52,000 lives. There was apparently code for Sept 11, Hitler, etc.... I would think this would be important enough to be covered by that.

My train of thought went from what the Bible says about quakes to a subtle shift the translator used in shake. You'll note other than KJV that quake is more often used and it wasn't William Quakespeare.

Interestingly enough, there's a bible code for the fact that the bible code is crap and that the author is making it all up
