Why won't my "Enter" work? When I hit "Enter" whatever I type is entered into the cell, but the carriage return doesn't happen (doesn't move to next cell). Scroll Lock is not on. What else is the cause?

There's a switch set somewhere that controls that feature. I disabled the carriage return once because it annoyed me.

Not to sound snippy...but do you perhaps know where/how to enable? I figured it somehow had gotten disabled but haven't been able to find out how...perhaps haven't put a full effort into it, but why should I when there's the RF? :D

1. "Tools"
2. "Options"
3. "Edit"
4. "Move selection after enter" -- enable by checking box.
5. "direction:" -- choose "Down"

I hope this helps.

woo hoo...thanks...told you it was lack of effort...that was way too easy. It didn't bother me when I used Excel mostly for school..but for work it's a pain in the tushie!

The only snippy comment I would give is that the question belonged in Software/Technology.
