where do you live?

I'm not sure if I got all the US locations - couldn't figure out what "Denver" would count as. If I should add another one, let me know.

This just goes to show that Southerners are the most friendly people in the country....look how we're winning this poll already. :D

I think it says something about the Southern educational system that one of you (an educated one of you) might think winning this poll has anything to do with being friendly ;)

Where is the line between the Northeast and the Mid Atlantic?

In which region do you consider NYC?

(I answered NE, but think that geographically it might be Mid Atlantic; perhaps NE is New England plus all of NY State except for LI, NYC, and maybe Rockland and Westchester.)

Personally, I consider the "Northeast" to be New York state and everything to the north or east of it (i.e New York plus New England). But others may disagree - I don't think the country is really divided into agreed upon regions.

More attention for you urysohn... :P
I don't know how to vote! I think of Western Canada as everything west of Ontario, and Eastern Canada being everything east of Quebec. Any others canucks reading this that knows otherwise?

WHAT? NY, NY, PA is mid-atlantic and everything below is "the south"?

Well, I'm off on a trip to Dixie! See you in Dover, Delaware!! Parts of Delaware and MD are actually north of southern-most parts of NJ! What a crock.

According to the census, I voted wrong too, but I'll stick with Mid-Atlantic for me. Most people that live in the south will also vehemently deny that Maryland is part of the South.

Maryland IS south of the Mason Dixon line.

I grew up in Delaware, that pretty much makes me the authority on where it belongs.
:shake:
I would say that it should be classified as mid-Atlantic & not anything Southern.

Maryland IS south of the Mason Dixon line.
The REAL Mason Dixon line was drawn out to settle a border dispute between MD and PA 100 years before the Civil War - no more, no less.

Many don't consider MD a southern state simply because they did not secede.

Virginia MIGHT be south; carolinas ARE south. ANYTHING north of that is absolutely NOT The South!

I've had someone tell me that anything north of Atlanta was Yankee.
