It is a little hard to have a 'gun' control debate when you are debating terrorist contols.

Some people are pushing a National ID card that seems a much more radical rights issue than simply having to register your gun.

Though, I expected the NRA to come out and say that everyone should be allowed to bring a gun onto the plane and if that was the case Sept. 11 wouldn't have happened.

It's not a totally ridiculous argument. The only thing that the airport security measures accomplished that morning was to guarantee that the hijackers would not have to worry about anyone contesting their takeover. Allowing everyone to bring a gun aboard isn't the answer, but disarming everyone proved disastrous.

Did any one else notice that one yahoo with a rifle shut down the entire Alaska pipeline for several days? I'm sure glad that we're going to defeat the terrorists, or they might decide to do things like that, too.

actually I have heard that the pipeline has been shot at least 50 times. This is the first one who punctured it
