these are songs from a computer-animated series for kids; all the characters are vegetables, hence the name "Veggie Tales." it's faith-based (bible stories) with hilarious twists... for example, one story made huge references to scenes from Monty Python's Holy Grail (the French in the castle calling down to King Arthur... the French are played by French Peas; Arthur is a Gourd!) it's fun for the parents too... we can't wait to get each one. they have been around for, oh, 10 years? and are finally becoming a little more mainstream. you used to have to go to a religious store to find them, but lately they have been showing up on Best Buy's shelves...

Trust me (and I'm not the one who posts that as the mole), they're hilarious. There's a DVD (or a boring VHS cassette) of just the silly songs. If you've got friends with kids, chances are they've got a copy, have sat through it 376 times in the past month, are ready for a break no matter how good it is, and would be happy to lend it to you.

The DVD has a few bonus tracks; the poll list is the VHS list, minus "Do the Moo-shoo" and the silly songs remix (which rocks).

I voted for The Hairbrush song, but there were six more in second place. (The water buffalo, the vet, and the silk hat aren't quite as good as the rest, or so I think.)

My favorite is Barbara Manatee primarily because I made up different lyrics and I sing it to one of my office mates who doesn't have kids. :) I voted for the hairbrush song though because I sing it around the house the most.

while agreeably a VERY silly song, it is not a feature of any of the "silly songs with larry" scenes... now, "you are my cheeseburger" by mr. lundt is considered a silly song, is it not technically a larry silly song. on the other hand, larry sings songs during episodes that are not 'sswl' features that are just as amusing (the image of him upside down in the hole has me giggling now).

"good morning, George, how are you" is a nice one; we have a bunch of the songs on cassette for the car; great for long drives! the grapes of wrath (who never take a bath) is funny too! oh the choices!!
