Anyone else been selected as a participant of the Computer-based Administration Pilot Study? I am a little nervous about being a guinea pig... As quoted from the email I received from the SOA:

"We are pleased to announce that the Society of Actuaries is conducting a pilot test to determine the feasibility of administering the Course 7 Pretest via personal computer. You have been selected for participation in the pilot."

Im not that sure that they think they can pull it off? What does "to determine the feasibility" mean? Does that mean that when the testing program crashes in the middle of my test, they will decide this is a bad idea and I will be screwed?

Fun stuff... Cant wait...

Yes. I'm sure it's not bad -- it seems to be outsourced to a company that handles these things. I'm declining to participate, though. I find these things stressful enough without the posibility of technical difficulties.

Nor did they offer any incentive. If I could do it on paper, enter my answers online at the end, and have an extra 10 minutes to check before hitting submit; that would be something. If I could hit submit and get my score via email 30 minutes later; that would be something. If I can be a guinea pig for a new testing mechanism get a quasi-anonymous thank you at the end; that's worthless.

I was also selected to participate but chose to decline. Their e-mail specifically said that you would not be given extra time if you had computer problems.

I definitely don't need the extra stress.
