i just noticed that the 2003 A/S page 13 is different from the 2004 page 13 in a significant way. in order to determine the change in non-admitted assets, you used to take prior year less current year. now it appears to be current year less prior year...so the sign convention tracing to the bottom of the income stmt is different. (covered by feldblum's surplus article and the IASA surplus chapter...which seem to follow the 2003 convention)
