3 homeruns on his birthday - the first ever. Do people really keep stats like this?

When he came back out onto the field after his third, the crowd sung "Happy Birthday" to him. :)

Wait until the night game. He could demolish that record.

If you have a good enough database, the cross reference should be pretty easy. I also assume the number of 3 homer games is managable.
However, in this sad state of baseball and the general ripping off of the fans, I consider the day/night double header one of the more despicable ways to give the fans less value than the past game. & generally make them feel taken.

With the way it's raining now in Boston, the record may have to stay at 3.
Patience: So what do you do when a game is rained out, and the # of tickets sold for that game + the # of tickets sold for the game on the makeup day > the capacity of the stadium?

I actually have never been rained out. But it always used to be that you can turn in the rain check for a ticket of equal value to ANY future game. Not just the make-up. And with baseball there were usually quite a lot to choose from and even the best teams don't sell out every game.
The day/night was just a way to not give fans the double headers that were usually regularly scheduled and to boost the attendence figures.

Patience - head on over to www.redsox.com and pick up tickets for whatever game you want. Good luck.
