Penmanship - If they can't read what you say, you'll get nothing.
Ink - The grader reads a photocopy and pencil doesn't always show up.
Use sentence fragments (I suppose I should just say "sentence fragments") - grammar is a luxury that you don't have.
Put a box around your final answers (?) - I don't know - is this a good idea?

Oh, and if you don't really have a shot anyway, do well enough to get your paper considered, but poorly enough that they'll think this was a tough exam and lower the passmark. Heck, you can do that even if you think you have a good shot, take one for the team and all.

Is using a pencil really a risk? I hate writing in ink, but I didn't even realize there was a possibility of an answer showing up if it's written in pencil.

If you write fairly dark, it isn't a problem.

if you have really light handwriting, buy a pencil with a thicker lead. don't worry - what you write with is the least of your problems.

But it's the easiest to fix
